Edmund N. Bacon, portrait sculpture
Portrait bust sculpted by Zenos Frudakis of Edmund N. Bacon (May 2, 1910 – October 14, 2005), noted American urban planner, architect, educator and author from Philadelphia. Mr. Bacon is described as “The Father of Modern Philadelphia” because of his work and vision during his tenure as the Executive Director of the Philadelphia City Planning Commission. During the sculpting process, Edmund Bacon would travel from Philadelphia to Frudakis Studio, in nearby Glenside, to pose for the artist.
